BTR Review
This commentary is well written, and insightful. The exegesis is thorough and detailed, and it deals comprehensively with the literary, historical, and theological issues.
Block interaction a wide range of views on each significant issue in both Judges and Ruth. He gives you his own conclusions, but also tells you enough about the alternatives to grasp where they are coming from.
The commentary does a good job of explaining the meaning of the text for its original readers, as well as its meaning for us today.
Written from an Evangelical perspective.
