BTR Review
Brueggemann invites us to think of Kings as a ‘theology of history’, or an ‘interpretive commentary’ on the historical events. Thus he is not particularly interested in the historical accuracy of Kings, but rather the ‘theological meaning’.
The book itself is well laid out, with engaging sidebars throughout (on topics such as culture, context, word studies, further reading), along with many fine art prints.
